The Fun - The Game
The 18 hole course is challenging, fun, and reminds you of why you started to play the game. This beautiful course is located in Waterton National Park (2.5 hours south of Calgary) and plays right next to the Southern Alberta Rockies. Like most of the courses in the Rockies, the mountain scenery is often a "hazard" all its own. This is a must play if you are in Northern Montana or Southern Alberta.

A Masterpiece Restored . . .
The genius of golf course architect Stanley Thompson of Banff Springs and Jasper fame is re-emerging in the open slopes and treed meadows of another of his mountain park masterpieces at Waterton Park. In recent years, the Waterton course, with its magnificent panoramas of mountain peaks and the sparkling water of the upper lake to Glacier Park beyond, seemed sadly neglected, like a favorite, well-to-do relative fallen on hard times. The fairways and greens were almost taken back by nature, by the often-present deer, elk, and moose, and the occasional cougar and bear. The good times have returned. The wildlife and grandeur remain and the course, with the care it cried out for, is reborn. Its fairways lush once more and its greens restored to reclaim their position as being among the best in Alberta. And it's only the start, because there is a five-year improvement plan, mainly involving tee box reconstruction in place. With super-friendly staff and such unforgettable surroundings, golf just seems the natural thing to do around here.

Mountain views and splendid scenery welcome you at the Waterton Park Golf Course.

History
The Waterton Park Golf Course is one of the oldest courses in Alberta. It is an original Stanley Thompson design, with the first 9 holes constructed in 1929, and the second 9 holes constructed 10 years later.

Waterton Park Community Association
The Waterton Park Community Association was formed in 1993, in response to the potential and future needs of the residents, leaseholders, businesses and, of course, the visitors to Waterton Park. The Association is a legally incorporated non-profit society, and assumed management and control of Waterton Lakes Golf Course for a period of 25 years.
